There are movies geared toward children that even adults might like. Movies are not for all moviegoers, movies minus the blood and gore of some movies coming out, or darker subjects, will be of more interest to the younger crowd, and parents wishing to take their children to them. There are animated movies, fantasy movies, and just good fun movies that both children and adults might enjoy. I have, and I am no child.

With some looking around there are some great movies for children that adults will like also. Not everything needs to be dark, there are many good movies being produced, it is just that they don't get as much promotion as the darker movies that teens seem to like, just look at the video games that many teens play, and are advertised on cable for some of the most popular game players.

There is also the list of 100 Recommended Children's Movies by The New York Times Essential Library located at http://www.filmsite.org/100kidsfilms.html.

There are also movies like Charlotte's Web, Stripes and others from companies like Disney that are based got the younger audience. Parents with access to the internet can do a search of “Movies for Children” and receive lists of movies, that children will probably enjoy, and parents can feel secure letting their children watch them. There are also old cartoon collections that parents might enjoy with their children, and might bring back a few memories as well. There are good choices for movies if parents are willing to do a little research and find the movies that they feel are appropriate for their children.
