How To Make Breakfast Special For Dad On Fathers Day
My family always brings me breakfast in bed for Mother's Day and I think it is just as special of a treat to do it for dad on Father's Day. Make him something extra special that really loves. Yes this may require everyone getting up early to prepare stuff, but it's only once a year and dad deserves it right?
The breakast in bed meal can something easy like coffee and donuts, or toast and juice. But in order to make it truly special putting a little effort in to it will make for an even lovlier experience for the person being served breakfast in bed.
Plan it out a few days ahead of time. Go shopping and get the specific things you need to serve dad the perfect breakfast. Don’t find yourself on the morning of Father’s Day scrounging the fridge and cabinets to come with something at the last minute. No one wants to feel that they are somebody’s last minute priority.
Go with quality. It’s OK to stretch the budget on special occasions. If you normally buy the least expensive orange juice spend .50 to a dollar more and splurge on a high quality juice Like Simply orange or squeeze your own. If you husband or dad is a coffee lover splurge on a nice Premium brand of coffee.
Forget the diet let him eat meat. Most men who are not vegetarians love meat. So give it to them. They can always go back to their diet on Monday. Let them enjoy some bacon or sausage or even steak for their morning breakfast. Nothing would make my husband happier then some steak and eggs for breakfast.
Make Dad what he likes not what you like. If Dad doesn’t like breakfast food fix him a nice sandwich or something else he would like.
Bring him the paper or a new book you bought for him.
Let Dad eat in peace and quiet if that is what you think he will enjoy. Have someone check with him about 15 minutes after he served to see if heeds anything like an extra napkin or more coffee or juice.
Make something from scratch, such as homemade waffles or pancakes with his favorite fruit, or some M&M's or chocolate chips, and some whipped cream. Or try something new such as making a frittata. An omelet is always a nice choice as well with his favorite stuffings. Personally my husband loves corned beef and hash, they sell that in cans right at the grocery store, so all I have to do is heat it up in a frying pan and he is as happy as a clam.
The best thing to do is make his personal favorite breakfast. If he doesn't really have a favorite then try something new. If he doesn't like breakfast food but does eat in the morning make him something else he will love.
